NO, WE AREN'T WAITING FOR WASHINGTON.........
because our kids need help now! While our number for referrals is pretty close to last year at this time, there is a 31% increase in 1st time referrals. As folks lose their jobs, and insurance rates go up, many have to choose between rent, food and medical coverage. We are also seeing an increase in those who have $5,000 deductible amounts. And that is in medical coverage!

And for folks who are losing dental coverage, GHK now has instituted "Everyday is Give Kids A Smile Day" We had over 500 applicants: kids who hadn't seen a dentist in year. Those regular check-ups are SO important to prevent major decay. Since the response has been overwhelming for a free exam, cleaning and sealant, we are looking for more dentists! If you are one, all you have to commit to is just one child to be a GHK provider!

And to assist even more kids, our 2nd annual "For the Kids Health Fair" will be held on April 17, 2010, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with all sorts of free screenings for the kids, fun educational activities, and information for parents. FREE FREE FREE and proudly supported by Glendale Adventist Medical Center, United Pharmaceutical Network, The Norris Foundation,CVS Pharmacy, Glendale Parks, Recreation & Community Services. Plans are to "take this show on the road" with a smaller, more targeted version, to Hoover High School on April 30, 2010.

So, No, we aren't waiting for Washington to help our kids---kids who are healthy and without pain are better able to learn, to test better. That reflects a good school district, and the economy grows where the school district has a good reputation and WE ALL WIN!
