Help Wanted:

Community & Health Fairs: Do you enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places? Then our health fairs may be just the thing. Glendale Healthy Kids often has requests for booths at health and community fairs. Shifts are 2-3 hours primarily evenings and weekends. Share information about GHK, may also provide an activity for children.

Dental Education: Ever wanted to be a teacher? Here is your chance! Training, supplies and helpful hints provided. Work with 1st grade children in 30 minute sessions on dental health, tooth brushing and flossing techniques, etc.

Bessie, seen with Executive Director Camille Levee in the picture, is currently visiting all 1st grade classrooms, demonstrating proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques. She and her sisters are accompanied by 22 volunteers. Let us know if you'd like to be a volunteer.

Give Kids A Smile Day: Are you an organizer? Want to work from home? This activity requires assisting with paperwork distribution and follow-up; recruiting dental providers and matching children with dentists. GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY happens once a year.

USC Mobile Dental Clinic: This project culminates in one week of dental appointments for children in one location. You can help before the event with forms, phone calls and parent meetings. During the clinic, assist with appointment scheduling,children’s activities, paperwork and a myriad of details.

Mailing Assistance: Do you prefer to work in the comfort of your own home, at your own speed? GHK has a need for those who can stuff envelopes, label mailings, etc. several times a year. All materials are provided and they will even be delivered and picked up!

Taste of Downtown Glendale: Help GHK raise money and awareness in a “tasteful” way. This committee recruits restaurants to participate in this fun event, doing marketing before the event and selling tickets the evening of the event. (Event is held one night in May)

How is this possible?

To earn rebates, shop at any merchant location where you see the blue Help Worldwide logo. Just swipe your loyalty card on the card terminal before paying. You will get a message that says "declined", but don't worry, this is normal and confirms that neither the loyalty card nor the terminal were charged. Pay for your items using any method of payment the merchant accepts. And that's it! You've successfully earned a rebate and sent a donation to your favorite charity.

Helping Hand Opportunity
Our generous volunteer professional providers donate their services to students referred to them; however, some medications and other items have to be purchased regularly by Glendale Healthy Kids. You can give a helping hand to children in need by becoming a regular sponsor of these items. Your generosity will ensure that next time a child can’t breathe or has a seizure, medicine will be available.

____ $25 to buy a month’s supply of medicine for a child with a seizure disorder
____ $50 for 1 session of counseling
____ $150 to buy a pair of glasses
____ $250 to buy a twin pack EpiPen for a child with a serious and potentially deadly allergy to bee stings
____ $250 to buy floss and toothbrushes for 300 children
____ $______to buy whatever is needed for the children

The eScrip® program is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery, loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the school, group or organization of your choice. There is an annual $10 fee to join eScrip®.

1) Register your existing grocery, credit and debit cards, 2) Shop at those eScrip® merchants using your registered cards, and 3) Donations from participating eScrip® merchants will be made to the organization of your choice: Glendale Healthy Kids.
